From the first words of Nothing Is Too Much, Coles Whalen delivers a vocal performance that you want to absorb. Whalen brings an earnest, independent sound to her solo career after fronting successful L.A.-based band Whalen for three years.

With songs that dispense raw emotion, Whalen proves that she is a seasoned performer with the chops to hold her own. For most of the EP, beautiful guitar and piano compositions support truthful, beautiful lyrics. The last track, "Honeyed Out," fails the rest of the EP with meaningless lyrics and tried guitar riff. Still, "Nothing Is Too Much" is a nice blend of introspective ballads and accessible guitar pop. B- | Raymee Holshouser
