Cable & X-Force Lead Messiah CompleX To Two More Sell-Outs!

The mutant time traveler Cable, once presumed dead, has returned and led the red-hot Messiah CompleX crossover to two more sell outs! Marvel is pleased to announce that both X-Men #205 and Uncanny X-Men #493, featuring Messiah CompleX Chapters Five & Six respectively, have sold out at Diamond (though copies may be available at the retail level). This marks the fifth & sixth straight sell-outs for the red-hot X-Men epic, making it clear that Messiah CompleX is the event of the season! Acclaimed author Mike Carey and fan-favorite artist Chris Bachalo have revealed Cable as keeper of the mutant child, but just what are his goals? And...wasn't he dead? Then, Eisner-winning Ed Brubaker and "Young Gun" Billy Tan brought the X-Men to blows with the Sentinels, an event that would soon pave the way for an all-new, all-different

To meet the overwhelming demand for these issues, Marvel is going back to press with X-Men #205 Second Printing Variant, with a new cover featuring the interior art of Bachalo. Marvel will also go back to press with Uncanny X-Men #493 Second Printing Variant, featuring the interior art of Billy Tan on a new cover.

Critics and fans continue to rave about the first major X-Men event in 10 years. "Messiah CompleX is one hell of a wild ride, delivering what I consider to be the perfect type of event," gushed Richard George of IGN.Com "Messiah CompleX isn't just one of the best X-event in decades, it's one of the better comic book events period."

"The crossover is delivering so far," added Paul O'Brien of TheXAxis.Com

Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on X-Men #205 Second Printing Variant, Uncanny X-Men #493 Second Printing Variant and all chapters of Messiah CompleX (including X-Factor #27, FOCing this week), as issues continue to sell-out quickly! The X-Men have faced the Marauders and Sentinels, but with narrow victories over both, can they all possibly survive the coming challenges? And just what is Cable's endgame?

Don't miss a single issue of Messiah CompleX!

What If? X-Men and What If? Annihilation Sell-Out!

Marvel is pleased to announce that What If? X-Men: The Rise and Fall Of The Shi'Ar Empire and What If? Annihilation have sold-out at Diamond (though copies may be available at the retail level). This marks the third straight sell-out for this year's What If? specials following the sell-out of What If? Planet Hulk.

"I almost fell off my chair in glee when I heard this," said Editor Justin F. Gabrie, who is also Managing Editor of Marvel Publishing. "Our focus from day one was to go back to basics and create some really strong stories in the classic What If? manner, pinpointing on that one infinitesimal moment in time that can change everything for the characters we love in the Marvel U. On top of that, we went through great pains, especially with the cover designs, to make them feel like they were an extension or a part of the original event it was based on. Speaking for the creative teams involved -- David Hine, Mico Suayan, Raphael Kayanan and Paul Mounts for Annihilation; Chris Yost, Larry Stroman, Jon Sibal and Christina Strain for X-Men-- you always hope that a project you work hard on gains the positive response you hope for. This, to us, confirms we did our job right and then some."

Coming soon, Marvel explores the consequences of a very different confrontation between Iron Man and Captain America in What If? Civil War, an extra-sized issue featuring two stories guaranteed to cure your Civil War withdrawals! Then, in What If? Spider-Man VS. Wolverine, Spider-Man becomes a killer...and Wolverine aims to make him pay for his transgressions!

Please note that Marvel currently has no plans to go back to press on What If? X-Men: The Rise and Fall Of The Shi'Ar Empire and What If? Annihilation.
