Remember that singer-songwriter night we did at Finale back in January? The one with Chicago's Cameron McGill, among others? The first show was straightforward sets, but the second one was a songwriters-in-the-round presentation. And it was incredibly well received (not to mention amazing).

Well, we're doing it again. This time, we're doing away with the straight-sets nonsense and heading for the good stuff: songwriters in the round. But we've added a twist: this time, the aforementioned artists will be telling the stories behind their songs. And each round of songs will have a theme, of sorts, to be decided by the lineup's leader.

Ah, yes, the lineup. Let's start with the leader, shall we? From Champaign, we're bringing in none other than Larry Gates, mastermind and voice behind everyone's former favorite thinking-man's party band, Lorenzo Goetz. Think you can tell a good story? Larry can tell it better. And longer. (We're serious. Don't try to out-story Larry Gates. Don't even think about it.)

We've also called on some of the best voices and writers in St. Louis: folk-rocker Joe Stickley (he of Joe Stickley's Blueprint, yes, indeed), the angelic-voiced Ryan Sears of hip indie trio the Daybreak Boys, and Jen Galinski and Dizzy Deville from the jazz-rock-fusion-wedon'tknowwhattocalliteither collective Half-Hour Hurricane.

Whether you're a fan of stories or songs or singing or tall tales or just want to feed off the creative energy captured in a single room, you won't want to miss this show. Trust us.
