Live Metro Ghostface Killah

ghostface2Scion goes clubbing again with Live Metro and continues to be the four-wheeled champion of underground music.

ghostfaceThose crazy kids with the awesome wheels are once again doing their part to shake yours. Every month they line up some of the world's best DJs and great bands and bring them to select cities. Kicking off on July 23rd, Ghostface Killah will hit the road with Rhythm Roots All-Stars and DJ Ayres. They will travel together by bus and make stops in New York City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, and Chicago. They will arrive in St. Louis on July 25 and play Blueberry Hill. The Scion Live Metros are free and open to the public, however attendees must RSVP at www.scion.com/livemetro. All attendees must be 21 or older.

As if that weren't enough, this Summer, Scion continues its support of independent music with the launch of the Scion CD Sampler v. 18 “Ninja Tune Mix.” Mixed by Darko, the DJ behind Baltimore’s legendary Spank Rockduo, the CD is an homage to the Ninja Tune record label. The CD’s will be available this summer at all Scion sponsored events and online stores as a gift with a purchase such as Turntable Lab, Digital Gravel, Fatdarko Beats and Underground Hip Hop.

Ronnie Darko, aka DJ Darko, memory maker and cut creator, is one half of the two-part DJ backbone that keeps Baltimore party hounds Spank Rock upright. The “hip-hop” collective, built around Devlin & Darko, CoolDisco MC Spankrock and producer XXXchange continues to set stages and body parts alight with its wildfire debut YoYoYoYoYoYo on Big Dada Recordings.

One last gift from the rectangularly-shaped auto purveyors – they are working with Scion’s Broadband and The Skinny. This is an interactive site where each month Scion will post films of their concerts, art shows, interviews with artists and musicians, car shows, and special trend-setting events.  Coverage will then be posted to The Skinny’s channels: Music, Art, The Car Lot, Scion Special Events, and Slick's Picks (ex pro skater).
