BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups

BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups once again lives up to its rep as St. Louis’ premiere destination for great blues music by bringing in one of contemporary blues hottest artists, Albert Castiglia, on May 10. Soulful and gritty, Castiglia’s feel for the blues is intrinsic, his musicianship polished and his stage presence charismatic. He emotes with a tone that is at once fresh and hauntingly reminiscent of past masters.

Castiglia was discovered by the legendary Junior Wells, who immediately hired him as his own guitarist/vocalist on several world tours. After Wells’ passing, he toured with Atlanta blues singer Sandra Hall, then ventured out on a solo career, releasing his debut album, Burn, in 2002.

"Bad Year Blues," a track off of his 2008 release, These Are the Days (Blues Leaf Records), is nominated for Song of the Year by The Blues Foundation. Castiglia will travel to Memphis for the awards show on May 7 just prior to his St. Louis show. Don’t miss this bright, young blues master in action.
