MALKY | Diamonds EP (Eighty Days)

The music is so tranquil—it is perfect for background music when you need to relax or to help you fall asleep.

Comprised of singer Daniel Stoyanov and producer/pianist Michael Vajna, MALKY is a duo to watch for. MALKY is a German R&B band making beautiful music together that stands out in the R&B game because I can’t think of another artist to which they sound similar, which is great.

Stoyanov has the soothing voice of an angel that fits the genre nicely. The music is so tranquil, perfect for background music when you need to relax or to help you fall asleep.

My favorite track is “Human Love,” especially the lyric “human love is just the melody…how the tables turn when they turn the game on you, what a path I paved, guess what God gave me was you.”

I love the rawness of having only vocals and piano: It feels very real, like you’re in the room with Stoyanov and Vajna as they create this beautiful music.

I do think, however, the music is too simple, like they are playing it safe with both the vocals and the music.

I would like to hear Stoyanov sing something slightly more upbeat with a little more power behind it; his talent is obvious, but it feels like he’s holding back a lot on this EP. B | Samantha LaBat
