Beats, guitar strums, and more beats. Ratatat is known for futuristic music rhythms and the wealth of flashy strangeness their videos possess. With the most recent video consisting of a screen that features random swirling colors, they are truly unique with their visuals. It’s been said that the energetic light shows during their performances mimic the psychedelic rock bands out of San Francisco in the 1960s.

With that in mind, I’m sure you can expect an epileptic fit–inducing frenzy of strobe lights for this show. After a four-year break in releases, Ratatat members Mike Stroud and Evan Mast are touring for their fourth album, Magnifique. In an interview with Oakland Press, they said they scratched over 50 songs to make sure this one is the best album they have put out to date. Magnifique takes it back to the roots of Ratatat, when they debuted their self-titled album in 2004.

Be prepared for a show your eye sockets will never be able to forget. Bring your sunglasses and hard-toed shoes, because this might just turn into a rave based on the electric futuristic tracks that comprise the latest release. | Alexy Irving
