On tour: Troye Sivan

His voice has been described by some as a “coffee-and-cream” kind of smooth, which proves to be relaxing and sensitive.

It’s not every day a fresh, young breakout artist takes the scene by storm and actually sticks around for more than a hit song, but with a voice like Troye Sivan’s, it isn’t hard to believe that, after two years of releasing music, he is still on the up-and-up. His voice has been described by some as a “coffee-and-cream” kind of smooth, which proves to be relaxing and sensitive; all the while, the music is layered electropop. Put it all together and you have a youthful, unique, and game-changing mix proven to work well for Sivan, who has multiple gold certifications in the U.S. and multiple platinum certifications in his home country of Australia.

In support of his debut album Blue Neighborhood, which features the hits “Youth” and “Wild,” the singer-songwriter-LGBTQ advocate is embarking on his Suburbia Tour, which starts in San Francisco October 16. The tour is 22 dates long and spans coast to coast. A portion of ticket sales will go to The Ally Coalition, supporting LGBTQ causes and the fight against discrimination through education, awareness and advocacy. | Alyssa Bardol
