On Tour: The Lone Bellow

When you listen to the Lone Bellow, your soul becomes full.

The Lone Bellow was born out of pain. Zach Williams began writing in a journal during his wife’s recovery after an accident. Those journal entries became songs, and those songs took flight. Williams is joined by Brian Elmquist and Kanene Pipkin, a randomly collected group of singers whose voices sound as if they were created to twine together.

The style of music is Americana: some blues, some jazz, some country and soul. The vibe is heartfelt and soulful. Think about that word, soulful: When you listen to the Lone Bellow, your soul becomes full. Full of pain, sometimes. Sometimes joy or sensuality or longing. Their words pull feelings from you and the soaring vocals carry you away. It’s truly a magical band. | Melissa Cynova
