All these words in this sequence can’t even compare to the entity of what Hiatus Kaiyote creates with its music.
Concertgoers, get ready for a night unlike any other. Hiatus Kaiyote will be bringing its multi-dimensional, polyrhythmic gangster shit to a crowd that may not be prepared to experience such a thing.
When I first heard the vocalist Nai Palm, my mind was blown. This woman can do some amazing things with her voice, and being able to see it live is something everyone should want to do. Her voice alone is a combination of scat-singing and solo harmonies. She brings a future-soul feeling to beats that feature beautiful, relaxing vibes and high-impact drum sequences with elemental rhythms.
All these words in this sequence can’t even compare to the entity of what Hiatus Kaiyote creates with its music. Their latest album, Choose Your Weapon, was released in May 2015 and has received national attention. My favorite songs from that album are “Laputa” and “Breathing Underwater.” If you’re not sure about buying tickets to the show, let those two songs speak for themselves.
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Hiatus Kaiyote has been traveling a lot bringing their funky tunes to people, and we in the States are finally getting a chance to see them live. If you’re in St. Louis, make sure you’re at the Pageant the night of August 9 to catch this band. It will be a performance like nothing you have ever seen before. | Alexy Irving
