On Tour: Dave Koz

He has worked with a number of heavy hitters in the industry, including Luther Vandross, Keb’ Mo’, Toby Keith, and many more.


Touring behind a collection entitled Dave Koz: Collaborations: 25th Anniversary Collection (Concord Music Group), Dave Koz has been tapped for the opening slot on the current Barry Manilow tour. With duets including “(I Love You) for Sentimental Reasons” with Rod Stewart, and “All You Need Is Love,” on which he is joined by friends such as Eric Benet, Johnny Mathis, Richard Marx, Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, and others. Also included is the beautiful tune “Let Me Count the Ways,” featuring the iconic Stevie Nicks. Manilow is even pictured in the insert of Koz’s new CD, and featured on the track “Apartment 2G: I Hear Her Playing Music.”

In his musical past, Koz was a touring member of Richard Marx’s band from the late 1980s through the early 1990s In 1993, Koz wrote the theme music for the popular daytime drama General Hospital, which ran from then through August 2004.He has worked with a number of heavy hitters in the industry, including Luther Vandross, Keb’ Mo’, Toby Keith, and many more. Koz also hosted The Dave Koz Morning Show on Los Angeles’s 94.7 The Wave, a smooth jazz station, for six years. Overall, he is quite the accomplished musician and radio personality. | Marc Farr
