The Sheldon and KDHX FM 88.1 present "The Sheldon Sessions," featuring Todd Snider , Wednesday, April 9 at 9 p.m. and The Avett Brothers , Tuesday, May 6 at 9 p.m. in the perfect acoustics of the Sheldon Concert Hall.

Described as alternately funny and sad, edgy and easy-going, troubadour Todd Snider brings his unique perspective on life to The Sheldon stage.  Covering topics as diverse as love, loss, prostitution, crime, and manual labor, Snider has been compared to artists such as Jerry Jeff Walker, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, and John Prine.

The Avett Brothers have taken the indie-roots world by storm, producing timeless, truthfully written songs that are rooted in bluegrass and folk traditions, but transcend genre.  Earnest and heartfelt, The Avett Brothers have earned rave reviews for their latest album, Emotionalism, and their sold-out live performances across the country are quickly becoming legendary.

A new series for a new generation, "The Sheldon Sessions" series will provide a unique opportunity to experience some of today’s most distinctive rock, alt-country, Americana, and folk-rock musicians, live in the intimate environment of the Sheldon Concert Hall.  A joint venture between The Sheldon and KDHX FM 88.1, the on-going series will both introduce up-and-coming artists to St. Louis audiences, and present established artists, many of whom often perform in larger venues, in a concert hall setting.
