The Good Thief Play Coming

The Midnight Company will present the St. Louis premiere of Conor McPherson’s taut, thrilling one-hour, one-man drama, The Good Thief, March 26 through April 10.

First produced in Dublin in 1994 under the direction of the playwright,The Good Thief tells the story of a small-time Irish thug caught up in a botched job that leads to murder, kidnapping, and a desperate flight for his life.

McPherson has recently written and directed Shining City and The Seafarer, which is currently playing on Broadway. McPherson also gave us St. Nicholas, which Sarah Whitney and Joe Hanrahan presented in various venues in St. Louis in 2004 and 2005.  

Sarah Whitney will direct Joe Hanrahan in The Good Thief. Sarah Whitney has directed Joe Hanrahan  before in Midnight’s production of Daniel MacIvor’s Cul-De-Sac in February of 2006.

Joe Hanrahan is one of the founders of The Midnight Company, and in addition to performing in Cul-De-Sac, he also wrote and directed two one-acts, Solider Boy and The Little Frenchy Files last year for the Company.

The Good Thief  will run Wednesday performances on, March 26, April 2, April 9 and Thursday performances on , March 27, April 3, April 10.
