After stops at Lollapalooza and the Warped Tour this summer, St. Louis-based rock band Ludo has just been announced as support for Spitalfield’s farewell tour. Other acts on the tour are The Forecast and The Graduate. Ludo will release their Island Records debut, You’re Awful, I Love You, in the coming months. The album was produced by Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Sugarcult, Faith No More) and mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, My Chemical Romance, Cake).

Ludo’s sound has been described by some as Weezer meets Queen, and anyone who has seen the band’s explosive live show can attest to those similarities both musically and theatrically. And while it may seem like a cliché for indie touring bands, there aren’t many bands out there who work as hard as Ludo and that hard work seems to be paying off.

Ludo’s Broken Bride EP, released in 2005, sold several thousand copies in the first six months of its release. While touring relentlessly and becoming one of the hottest bands in the Midwest, Ludo also recently won Fuse TV’s Next Big Thing Award, and have performed on the Vans Warped Tour and at ESPN’s X-Games. All of that helped them land a deal with major label Island Records in the fall of 2006.
