Jungle Jack Hanna

hanna-j.jpgLive at COCA! Jungle Jack Hanna: Animal expert shares his love and knowledge in COCA’s intimate Founders’ Theatre

(St. Louis, MO) COCA is pleased to announce that Jungle Jack Hanna is coming to town.  For the first time in St. Louis, Jack Hanna will appear on the COCA stage for three live performances on Saturday, Jan. 24.  He brings many animals with him, as well as fascinating stories about his adventures.  Footage from his TV shows over the years will be shown along with some hilarious bloopers.

The former executive director of the Columbus Zoo, Hanna travels the world to discover the earth’s most interesting animals.  Known for his frequent appearances on Good Morning America, Larry King Live and The Late Show, Hanna enjoys educating families about wildlife.  COCA promises a very amazing, entertaining and educational show.  All of the animals that appear on television and on the COCA stage are cared for by professionals and serve as “ambassadors” for their cousins in the wild.

One can say that Jack Hanna was destined to work with animals.  He got his first job with the family veterinarian, Dr. Roberts at age 11 and continued working with animals for many years, which eventually landed him the director’s position at the Columbus Zoo in 1978.  As director, Hanna helped raise attendance by offering educational and entertaining events and also raised money to transform the zoo into the state-of-the-art park that it is today.  Because Hanna was spending so much time on media appearances, he became unable to manage the day-to-day events at the zoo, so in 1992 he received the honorary title of the Director of Emeritus, a job that his still enjoys today.

In 1993, Hanna became the TV host of “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventure” and after 10 years he started a new TV series called “Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild,” which won an Emmy for outstanding children’s series of 2008.

Hanna enjoys educating families about wildlife.  Everyone from the youngest child to the oldest adult will be entertained and inspired.
