Hispanic Festival, Inc. of Greater St. Louis will be presenting the Greater St. Louis Hispanic Festival at Soldiers Memorial Park (Market and 14th Street) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – September 5, 6, 7, 2008.  Friday and Saturday will be from 10am to 10pm and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.  The colorful and festive opening ceremony will begin at 12 noon on Friday – September 5 with Mayor Francis Slay.  This is the largest Hispanic celebration in the St. Louis area.

The annual event will feature Hispanic folk dancers, over 75 booths, the Cardinals Kids Corner sponsored by Cardinals Care, and eight live Latin bands playing a variety of music on the premier concert stage.  A wide variety of foods and beverages from Latin & South America will be available for purchase including Mexico, Bolivia, Colombia, Uruguay, and more.  Other attractions include folk arts and information booths from several cultural organizations and government agencies as well as recruitment booths.

One of the Fair’s purposes is to celebrate the common heritage of Hispanic nations.  The funds raised are used to fund scholarships distributed to college-bound students as well as under-privileged children and their families.

We invite the entire St. Louis community, both Hispanic and non-Hispanic, to come and share in this festive weekend celebration of fun and fiesta for the whole family.  Area parking is available or fair-goers may ride the Metro Link to the Scottrade Center stop.  Admission is free.

The purpose of Hispanic Festival, Inc., a non-profit organization, is to unite and bring cultural harmony to the St. Louis area throughout all walks of life.  For more information contact Hispanic Festival, Inc.
