Herstory Weekend March 7th and 8th

March is National Women’s History Month & organizers of the annual Herstory Weekend are gearing up for another exciting event: Friday March 7th & Saturday March 8th at Mosaics on Main, 124 – 126 E Main in downtown Belleville.

Proceeds benefit Single Parent Scholarship at Southwestern Illinois College while surplus items and clothing exchange benefit women’s shelter. The even will be held form 6p.m. until 1a.m. both evenings with a $10 donation for a weekend pass. Patrons 18 and up only.

Herstory Weekend offers the metro area two nights full of music, dance, art, film, handicrafts, clever conversations, tasty treats, delectable libations, & a unique clothing exchange: patrons are highly encouraged to come trade all of their gently used eccentric, eclectic, electric accoutrement, & fanciful accessories.  The event also includes a puppet show by Blaque Berry Puppet Theater, tarot card readings by Lisa S, & massage sessions by Circle of Health Wellness Center .

Organizers invite patrons to enter a unique performing/visual arts space & celebrate extraordinary women through music by Uncle Albert, Celia’s Big Rock Band, Auset, .E,  EarthSol, Heather Manley, Libby Pants, East End Girls, Hello Seymour, Sarah McCracken, Syna So Pro, MaidRite, & Tenement Ruth; dance by Fly Girls Acro-Yoga, Coalescence, Hips Afire! & Amazonia Bellydancing, & Alley Cat Revue Burlesque; art & crafts by Novei Beige, Bridget Flood, Kathy Gomric, Kathie Harnacker, Cate Anevski, Elizabeth Frick, Yasmine Blaque, Amy Thorn, Mary Novak, Jayne Brookman, & Michelle Hudgins;  & original films by Rebecca Rivas, Kristy Guttmann, & Carson Minow.
