Burlington, MA – Beginning April 18, Rounder/Zoë Records’ tween queens Girl Authority will partner with several Girl Scouts’ councils across the U.S. for Girl Scout exclusive shows to help celebrate the Girl Scouts’ 95th Anniversary and Girl Authority’s sophomore album, Road Trip (released March 13).  All nine members of Girl Authority are Girl Scouts and “are so excited to be a part of their 95th anniversary celebration” says Gina of Girl Authority. “Patriots’ Trail Girl Scout Council is thrilled that Girl Authority will be adding their sweet voices to help celebrate Girl Scouts’ 95th birthday,” said Patriots’ Trail CEO Shannon O’Brien. “Their music is upbeat and lots of fun to listen to and, on top of that, all nine of these exciting young performers are Massachusetts Girl Scouts.”  Upcoming performances are listed below (all exclusive to Girl Scouts in those local chapters).

Road Trip is a collection of five original songs and 14 covers that celebrates the joy of youthful girl power, with family-friendly musical fare aimed toward and performed by the target audience’s peers.  Girl Authority’s Road Trip, produced by Grammy® winner, Scott Billington, is themed as a triptych across the USA, with each group member “visiting” a different city. Highlights include “Let’s Get Together,” an original groove-oriented track from Depeche Mode and Erasure member Vince Clarke, melodic pop/rocker “This Is My Day,” written by Tanya Donelly, formerly of the Throwing Muses, Belly and the Breeders; and hoedown “Girl Authority,” by Steve Bonner and Billington.  Cyndi Lauper’s reggae-splashed “Shine” is also featured.

The nine members of the group, between the ages of 9 and 14, each take on an individual identity that ties in with their personalities, allowing fans to relate one-on-one.  Meet Tarr (Rock-n-Roll Girl), Alex (Fashion Girl), Jacqueline (All-Star Girl), Carly (Glamour Girl), Jess (Boho Girl), Gina (Urban Girl), Crystal (Country Girl), Kate (Party Girl) and Zoë (Preppy Girl).
