OurStage presents the 10,000 Lakes Festival Cosmic Break Tour at Lucas School House on Saturday, April 12.

OurStage and the 10KLF are proud to announce the St. Louis regional showcase as part of the fourth annual Cosmic Break Tour. Through Ourstage.com, this year’s Cosmic Break Tour will present hundreds of local musicians with the opportunity to perform alongside some of today’s finest musical acts in front of over 20,000 festival-goers at the 6th annual 10,000 Lakes Festival, held July 23-26 in Detroit Lakes, MN.

St. Louis artists can register on Ourstage without submission fees for their chance to be chosen to perform at Lucas School House on Saturday, April 12, where one artist will win a paid performance slot at this year’s 10,000 Lakes Festival.

Letting the fans decide, the winning artist is chosen through popular audience vote, one ticket = one vote. The final date for St. Louis artist submission is February 19.

OurStage is a democratic competition where the fans decide who’s best in emerging music and film. Artists upload music and compete in monthly competitions. Fans visit OurStage.com and judge the music. Fan-favorite artists move on to the next round.

Based on the OurStage fan-rankings within the 10KLF Cosmic Break Tour Channel, 50 total bands will be selected to perform at 10 regional stops throughout the Midwest. At each stop, 5 bands will take the stage to battle it out live and the band with the most audience votes at each show gets to perform at the 10,000 Lakes Festival in Northern Minnesota in July.

Artists are yet to be announced for 2008, but past performers have included Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio, John Mayer, Phil Lesh & Friends, Bob Weir & RatDog, The Black Crowes and The Allman Brothers Band, among hundreds of others.

In addition to the cosmic break of a lifetime, winning artists will receive $500 for their festival performance, along with complimentary camping and select meals for each performing member, however; travel and lodging costs are not provided.
