COCA ‘s two student dance companies – COCAdance and Ballet Eclectica – perform "Synergy," the spring repertory concert, April 18-20.  The annual performance highlights the companies’ best work from the past year and includes pieces by guest choreographers.

Premiering at "Synergy" will be a Ballet Eclectica dance by guest choreographer Thaddeus Davis (Dance Magazine’s "one of 25 to watch in the world"), and a COCAdance piece choreographed by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre’s Antonio Douthit and Kirvin Boyd.

Douthit is a COCAdance alum.  Other guest choreographers include Darrell Grand Moultrie, who has worked with the Cincinnati, Colorado and Milwaukee Ballets; Trinette Singleton, of the Joffrey Ballet School; and Kate Skarpetowska, a former member of Parsons Dance Company.

COCAdance, now in its sixteenth year, specializes in jazz, modern, hip-hop and rhythm tap.  Lee Nolting is the artistic director.  Under artistic director Amy Scheers, COCA’s ballet company Ballet Eclectica is in its third year.
