Contamination Preview | 6.24.11-6.26.11

St. Louis’ own horror, sci-fi and pop culture convention spawns its own sequel.

Contamination, St. Louis’ own Horror, Sci-Fi and Pop Culture Convention was such a success in its initial year that, like all good horror franchises, it spawned its own sequel. Contamination 2011: The Sequel will be presented June 24-26 at the Sheraton-Westport Chalet in West County.

Celebrity headliners include Eric Roberts (Paulie from The Pope of Greenwich Village, Salvatore Maroni from The Dark Knight) and Boondock Saints stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and David Della Rocco. Alex Hyde-White, Rebecca Staab, Jay Underwood, Michael Bailey Smith, Carl Ciarfalio and Joseph Culp of the infamous Roger Corman-produced version of Fantastic Four will be there, as will be Day of the Dead cast members Gary Klar, Mark Tierno and Terry Alexander. There’s lots more, including Sandahl Bergman and Ben Davidson from Conan the Barbarian, Tony Todd from Candyman, and adult film legend Seka: you can see the whole lineup at http://www.con-tamination.com/page/419621604.

A number of films will be presented at Contamination 2011, including Thomas Churchill’s Emerging Past, Darrin Dickerson’s D4, Bloody Moon Films’ Old Habits Die Hard, Chris Grega’s Game of the Year and the world premier of Eric Stanze’s Ratline.
And for something completely different, as they used to say on Monty Python, The Angry Young Men Puppet Show will perform their version of "The Night of the Living Dead," which is basically the whole movie in 30 minutes, with puppets.
