Helen Stellar returns, finally, with a new song and a new album in the Spring.

About the same time PLAYBACK:stl was birthed a band out of Chicago, via Madison, WI and now fittingly out of LA released a series of EPs which crossed our desk and took hold of our hearts. Not just our hearts, but the musical hearts of many important people including Nic Harcourt of KCRW and director Cameron Crowe. The EPs finally came together to form a fantastic shoe-gazer wonderland called Prayer To Myself. They toured a bit, even doing a show at Cicero's that I swear was the most ear-splitting ever and also the most amazing. We waited for the follow-up, and waited, and waited.

So imagine my surprise to get a message from the band's Facebook page that, yes indeed, there is a new song out and a full-length will follow in the Spring. I nearly fell over. The first single from If the Stars Could Speak They Would Have Your Voice is a nice little song called "Sensation Blvd." You can listen and you can dowload it at www.laisthenewny.com. It is No. 5 on their February 12th listing of new music.

By the way, they also had the coolest vinyl for their album and the t-shirt has been in residence on my back for years. I am looking forward to new ones of both.
