HYDEWARE THEATRE BRINGS
THE AWARD-WINNING DRAMA
"STOP KISS" TO COCA
STOP KISS, by Diana Son, is a
rare play that makes you question if you're taking anything in your life for
granted. Two women's lives are changed
in an instant as they become victims of a brutal hate crime.
Callie, an 11-year veteran of
New York, has
never made a significant or important decision in her life. She meets Sara, a schoolteacher from
St. Louis, and
they establish a fast friendship. Their friendship delves into deeper territory
and the two women unexpectedly fall in love. In a tender moment they share their
first kiss outside a bar in the West Village.
The next moment changes both of
these women's lives instantly. Callie and Sara become victims of a brutal
beating which leaves Sara in a coma. To
keep Sara in New
York with her, Callie must become the strong,
self-assured person they both need her to be.
As the scenes of this stellar
serio-comedy go back and forth in time, it is the act of violence that is at the
center, but by no means is the focus. The growth of Callie and Sara's relationship is unexpected and tender,
resulting in Callie's personal growth to make a significant decision with an
unselfish act of love. STOP KISS is sure
to leave the audience mesmerized with its audacious story of love, commitment,
and personal identity. STOP KISS by Diana Son is a
brilliant look into the inner-workings of the human soul and how it reacts to
love when it is confronted by hate.
