Elevator Band (Midlands, U.K.)
| The Elevator Band, formed in April 2006, play a blend of melodic,
laid-back, powerful pop/rock, with sing-along tunes and catchy choruses. The
music is instantly accessible and is delivered with passion and flair. Lead
singer Rob Davies has played all over the world for the last 12 years; his
influences include John Martyn, Nick Drake and Jesus Rodriguez. www.myspace.com/theelevatorbanduk
The Glare of Day | Taking their
name from "To Helen" by Edgar Allan Poe, The Glare Of Day has, by
now, evolved into more of a melting pot of ideas than just Tim O'Saben's
pre-written material. Although he put the ingredients together, the band has
taken on a life all it's own. With a sound heavily influenced by New Wave acts
(The Cure, The Church, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Love and Rockets) and seminal
indie rock pioneers (Dinosaur jr., Archers Of Loaf, The Pixies, Guided By
Voices) The Glare Of Day conjures up songs that find ways to bridge together
these musical landscapes.
Hated Nixon | This three-piece punk-rock band formed in
late summer 2005. The band consists of three veteran musicians who have all
logged tens of thousands of miles touring, played thousands of shows, and
released multiple albums combined over the last eight years. With their
previous musical endeavors behind them, the boys of Hated Nixon aimed to jump
right back into the St. Louis rock
scene and make a name for themselves. Burnett's acid rock-influenced drums and
Salamone's motown-esque bass lines lay the foundation for their unique
groove-mixed punk style which is framed by Wyatt's sing-along vocals and
pumping guitars. With the completion of their first EP, Unleash the Fury, it is evident that Hated Nixon is carving their
own niche: one part punk, one part progressive, and one part groove. www.myspace.com/hatednixon
