Join PLAYBACK:stl as we host Tuesday nights at Cicero’s in the Loop of University City here in St. Louis. Each week, we will bring three great acts to the cozy room in the club that offers fantastic bands every night. (We highly recommend the pizza.)

Bear Hug Jersey | Bear Hug Jersey hails from Madison County, and they bring a fresh, original sound to the world of modern rock. All four band members play their instruments well, with the songs they play consistently striking. Singer/guitarist Aaron Kellim and guitarist John Webb do a great job of coming up with strong guitar hooks and neat riffs that really capture the audience's attention. They make full use of their two guitar players, with each musician contributing something different for every song. While the music is consistently tight throughout the set, Kellim sings well and never ruins a song with flat notes. This is one band that is well worth making the trip to see. The State (Columbia) | I was in rehab for three months for my glass-eating addiction when I met Matt Taylor. Matt Taylor has a business at the time reselling used duct tape. It was profitable but no one could ever support a family doing it. I guess you could call him a thrill seeker. While this was going on, Joe was still trapped inside a container of Elmer's glue. What a mess! It took us six weeks to uncontaminate the glue. JP3 decided to wear nothing but spandex to prove his manhood, because I had planted the seed of doubt, when he fell into the vat of glocyderin. I decided to give up my search for what caused the "wet spot" and thus fell head first into the deepest depression of my life. Something had to change and I wasn't about to waste my spare monkey wrench. The key was inside JP3's finger and it didn't matter how many times you pulled it. It kept us healthy and strong for a long time. We will always trust in those crazy, white, plastic chairs to hold us up. Amen. www.myspace.com/thestaterockmusic
