Two hot young bands, one cool night of music.
w/Orangefield, Emily & Ali
at Lucas School House, St. Louis
9 p.m. | 21+ | $8
PLAYBACK:stl is pleased to be on board in bringing you two cool new St. Louis acts, the Province and Orangefield.
This appearance will be the first official show for the Province, a
group of very talented young musicians. Fronted by Katie Roberds, the
band also features Dustin Keller (ex-Sevenstar) and Mike Forbis on
guitar, Tony Perolio on drums, and Steve Waller on bass.
Written with the heart of a folk singer and performed by a band that
doesn't do folk, the songs of the Province find the perfect
balance between good writing and a sound that demands attention. The
Province is driven by catchy alt country guitar riffs, Cash-style
rhythms, and soulful vocals. Anticipation is already high for their
debut album due out early 2007.
Orangefield
is the collaboration of Kevin Barry (The Lab, Ghetto Prenup) and Grant
Essig (Sevenstar, Jonathan Cour). With two such talented
singer-songwriters, this performance promises to be nothing short of
breathtaking.
Acoustic duo Emily & Ali open the show.
