Is it fair to recommend a show that I booked?

Well, hell yeah; it's a damn good show. So here, without further ado, are my recommendations for the week:

07.17 | Now It's Overhead @ Creepy Crawl | Andy LeMaster is one tiny package of dreamy. With his curly locks and his big voice, he and his band craft gorgeous, dreamy indie-pop. With a new album, Dark Light Daybreak, forthcoming in August, Now It's Overhead are bringing the new songs to you before you can buy them. The band is touring with Tilly and the Wall. Look for a sidebar on them in our September issue, alongside a Cursive cover story and previews of two other hot Saddle Creek releases, Ladyfinger (ne) and Eric Bachmann.

07.17 | Team Tomato, the Pomonas, Nathan Brooks @ Cicero's | Yeah, I booked this one. Yeah, I'm proud of it. So what? Local heroes Team Tomato should need no introduction. (In fact, they're currently in the running for a slot at next month's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago; vote for 'em here.) And I've sweetened the bill by bringing back the power-pop of Kansas City's Pomonas with Nathan Brooks (also of K.C.) and his songwriting prowess. I'll be the one dancing madly up front, uh huh.

07.21, 22 | Toad the Wet Sprocket, Cheap Trick @ Live on the Levee | So what if the heat index is 110? It's Toad and Cheap Trick, baby! It's free! And, well, you didn't have anything else to do anyway. I just hope Toad plays "One Little Girl"...
