Digg!

Music: It's not faithful. It's not exclusive. It plays the field.

There is live music. There is drinking; lots of drinking. People (not me) are doing shots. (You really don't want me doing shots; it's not pretty.) People are loud, talking over the music, despite my best intentions. People are laughing, having fun. The music is good.

What's it all about? It depends. What do you want it to be about? Do you want to find a message in the lyrics? Because, of course, there is one. Do you just want to close your eyes and move to the beat? That's there, too. If you just want to talk through it, have it be your soundtrack—well, it's sort of rude, but who among us hasn't done that? It's OK; I give you permission.

I sometimes wonder if my life is too superficicial. Most people have kids, something deeper that grounds them. Me, I'm grounded by music—which, as we all know, is a love 'em and leave 'em type of partner. It's not faithful. It's not exclusive. It plays the field. But oh, how it makes you feel so good.

Most people have a soundtrack to their life. Me, I have a life to accompany my soundtrack. Which absolutely rocks.
