That just because people don't return calls doesn't mean they're assholes.

It's those little things that I want to capture more of.

Like the fact that it is concurrently sunny, raining, and snowing right now.

That the birds don't seem to mind; they are gathering in the backyard, same as they always do (though the squirrels look a little bit cold).

That the new Ambulance LTD EP seems largely a throwaway effort, something to tide over fans like me until the next full-length is ready.

That there is so much great music in this world and people are still largely listening to crap (a fight I will fight every day).

That cats sometimes make a really sweet, loving sound that is very guttural, unlike any other creature.

That the ripped up trunk of the 200-year-old tree in the median in front of my house will always remind me of the rollover accident that thankfully wasn't me (and no one died).

That just because people don't return calls doesn't mean they're assholes.

That perhaps a four-and-a-half-hour play is just too long. (I will let you know tomorrow.) And maybe sneaking in alcohol like a teenager will prove to be unwise, as I may fall asleep.

That spring will get here when it's darn good and ready, no matter what the calendar says, and nevermind the flowers bravely showing their faces.

That family grounds you, and rock 'n' roll dreams are just that: dreams. Don't forget to live in reality.
