UK darlings South announce their upcoming American release, You Are Here, set to hit on April 15th, 2008 via bluhammock music/Young American Recordings.  With a national tour planned for later this spring and performance spots at this year’s SXSW festival.

South formed when three young boys Joel Cadbury (lead vocals, bass and guitar), Jamie McDonald (lead guitar, vocals and drums) and Brett Shaw (drums and guitars) began to play music together (mostly electronica) at the ripe age of fifteen. Just a short year later, the newly formed South started self-recording on a 4-track.

Through those first years, the band found a mentor in ex-Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown and later found a fan and guru in UNKLE’s James Lavelle, who signed the band to his personal record label Mo-Wax in the UK. Since then, the band has released four records on various labels. In recent years however, South’s public profile here in the United States has grown.  Their music has been featured in the Academy Award-nominated film "Sexy Beast," on HBO’s "Six Feet Under," and on the popular teen drama "The O.C." All of these opportunities have afforded South the chance to continue in the pursuit of their passion to make music.
