Legendary performer, songwriter and producer Todd Rundgren will be reunited with NYC glam punk icons The New York Dolls to produce their as-yet-untitled 2009 release. The album will be released on the newly re-launched Atco label through Warner Brothers.  From his Philly beginnings as founder of influential garage pop group The Nazz through his acclaimed solo releases and side projects such as Utopia, Todd’s storied discography includes many amazing producer credits, including Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell  and renowned albums by Patti Smith, XTC, Cheap Trick, Bad Religion, Hall & Oates, and Grand Funk Railroad. Rundgren, who last worked with the Dolls 36 years ago to produce their classic self-titled 1973 release, is set to start production of the album in January 2009 at his studio on the island of Kauai.
