GUITAR CENTER'S "KING OF THE BLUES" GUITAR COMPETITION GAINS MOMENTUM FROM COAST TO COAST
Preliminaries Of Annual Event Designed To Support And Aid Musicians Continues To Unite Guitarists Around The Country

Westlake Village, CA:Westlake Village, CA: Guitar Center, the nation's leading music instrument retailer, continues to broaden the reach of "King of the Blues" '07 — the world's largest guitar competition. Geared towards promoting players with deep passion and commitment to the craft, "King of the Blues" is an annual celebration of a genre that is the root of today's music. The competition begins to gain nation-wide momentum with nearly 3,000 participants to date.

The competition is well underway and has introduced competitors from ages 16 to 65 to new and excited audiences as they compete for a chance to move on to the district competitions slated for April 18th across the country. Following the district competitions the winners will be given the chance to perform at the regional eliminations taking place in Hollywood, Detroit, Nashville and New York City. The victors from these cities will be given the opportunity to move on to the grand finals and compete for a grand prize package worth over $50k with prizes designed to aid them as they launch a professional music career:
