The Arch Rival Roller Girls, St. Louis’ all female flat-track roller derby league, is proud to announce the Windy City Rollers of Chicago have accepted an invitation to compete against the Arch Rival Roller Girls in St. Louis on Sat., Jan. 5 at All American Sports Mall in South St. Louis County.

This will mark the first inter-league home bout for the Arch Rival Roller Girls, as well as the first time ARRG’s all-star travel team will compete since the league became a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association in September.  Before being accepted to WFTDA, ARRG had a road record of 2-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of the Windy City Rollers in Chicago in January 2007.

WFTDA was founded in 2004 and now includes almost 50 all-female, skater-owned and -operated leagues nationwide that have united to lead the growing sport of women’s flat track roller derby. WFTDA member leagues engage in sanctioned inter-league play, including regional and national tournaments, and member leagues are ranked quarterly.  St. Louis’ ARRG will be eligible for ranking after playing two ranked teams. The Windy City Rollers are currently ranked 7th in the country.

Meanwhile, the Arch Rival Roller Girls’ local teams complete their second season on Saturday, Nov. 24 as the M-80s go up against the Smashinista’s in the league championship, dubbed "Holy Rollin’ Empire."  Local band 7 Shot Screamers will perform immediately following the bout.

Advanced tickets for the Jan. 5 bout will be available on the league’s website and at additional locations to be announced. Tickets for the Nov. 24 championship are available online, as well as at Fifi’s in the Loop and Evermore Tattoo Gallery in Edwardsville.
