Late nights and big dreams

The last time I blogged, I typed so much the system timed out and I lost everything. Now I think I have finally figured out how to upload to the Web from my desktop (yes, life is soooo complicated), and maybe if I think and type quickly it will all be OK.

Hard to believe it’s 2006. I’m starting to feel so old; I guess that’s what happens the older you get, huh? Jim and I rejoined a gym the other day; maybe that will help combat the feelings. You’re only as old as you feel, or something like that.

So far, the year has been a tad tumultuous, both for us and those around us. However, our goal remains clear: 2006 is the year PLAYBACK:stl, with the help of a venture capitalist or angel investor, goes into the black. Breaks free of its boundaries and really becomes what we know it can be. We don’t claim to be all things to all people, but to you independent-minded music fans out there, we’re pretty damn good, right? This year, we want to be even better, from more content and better design to a wider distribution and bigger readership. It’s going to happen, too. 2006; mark my words.

As I type this in the wee hours of the night, one of the ferrets is downstairs making a huge racket. I cannot for the life of me figure out what he is wrestling with. Last night, it was the phone; Toby became suddenly enamored with the cordless, which he managed to knock off the four-foot-high table. He then dragged it under the couch, where he proceeded to chew its buttons. Gotta love the little monster; really, you do. He’s just so cute. And don’t even talk to me about when he curls up under the covers of the bed to sleep. Precious.

Speaking of sleep, it’s probably something to consider before too long. Tomorrow’s gonna be a productive day. Sweet dreams.
