Top Burrito Restaurants of 2015 | Jamie Smith

15 was the year of the burrito, and I’m here to wrap it up for you.

Wrap it in a flour tortilla and call it a meal. Burritos are versatile and always delicious, any hour of the day. From breakfast burritos to late-night snack burritos, there’s nothing better than a handheld cylinder of delight. For me, 2015 was the year of the burrito, and I’m here to wrap it up for you.

  1. Qdoba
No matter the year, no burrito compares. Have you had their queso? With countless flavor combinations, Qdoba is hands-down the all-around burrito winner.
  2. Pancharos (Columbia, MO)
You can watch the tortilla go from a ball of dough to a fresh-pressed tortilla made when you order. One unique aspect of Pancharos is that before they wrap it up, they mix it up so every bite you take is the perfect combination of meat, cheese, rice, and everything else you could want in a burrito.
  3. La Siesta (Columbia, MO)
What better way to watch Netflix with than a burrito that delivers? La Siesta offers a good menu, great drinks, and the convenience of location and fast delivery. Aside from burritos, the entire menu does not disappoint.
  4. Chipotle
Order up! One newborn-sized burrito ready to go! What Chipotle lacks in options, they make up for in portion sizes. Chipotle is a classic. If only they had queso…
  5. Freebirds World Burrito (Kansas City, MO)
Go for the burritos, stay for the puns and the foil art. It’s a bit out of the way, but if you happen upon the KC area, Freebirds has a great atmosphere and even better burritos. You can even choose between sizes of burritos, something I haven’t seen anywhere else.
  6. Jose Jalapenos (Columbia, MO)
Pay for one meal and have enough food left over for two more when you get home. There is something on their huge menu for even the pickiest of eaters. It’s a fun restaurant, located right next to a bowling alley and laser tag.
  7. Panda Express
Okay, hear me out. Technically Panda Express doesn’t serve burritos; I get it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take your leftover orange chicken, fried rice, and other random ingredients in your fridge and wrap them in a tortilla and make your own Chinese burrito. Don’t knock it till you try it.
  8. Taco Bell
Sometimes you need a burrito at 2 a.m. and have nowhere else to turn. I’m not saying this is quality Mexican food, but it’s still pretty delicious. Not to mention they introduced breakfast in 2015 for when you want a hash brown shoved inside your burrito, which is surprisingly tasty.
  9. Burrito-Ville (Cape Girardeau, MO)
This place is the perfect fit for a college town. It’s a great value and super quick. If you aren’t in the mood to hold your burrito, try dirty fries, essentially all the contents of a burrito atop a huge helping of crinkle fries.
  10. Moe’s Southwest Grill
Moe’s definitely wins for friendliest burrito joint. You will be greeted on the way in, but then you’ll be confused when you try to order. If you want a cheap burrito, they do have great deals. | Jamie Smith
