  1. Frank Turner | The Pageant, St. Louis (12.11)
I got to close out the year with a killer show from Frank Turner. He’s always fantastic live, and he seemed extra pumped for this show. This was a great blend of songs from all his albums, including every song I wanted to hear. An absolutely stellar set list and show. Opener RadKey was pretty great, too.
  2. Manic Street Preachers | The Metro, Chicago (04.29)
This was the 20th anniversary tour of the masterpiece The Holy Bible, and it was a masterpiece of a show. It still amazes me that the Preachers are able to fill arenas all over the world, but they play small venues in America. So lucky to have caught this show.
  3. Wilco | Masonic Auditorium, Cleveland (09.17)
This was my first time seeing them, and it was fantastic. They started out by playing new album Star Wars in its entirety before moving on to a greatest-hits set list.
  4. Interpol | The Pageant (05.11)
Even though they were touring for a newer album, this was more of a greatest-hits show, and it was wonderful. I haven’t seen them live since 2004’s Antics, so getting a large portion of the set filled with Turn on the Bright Lights and Antics was a treat.
  5. Tallest Man on Earth | The Pageant (07.30)
What a treat! I had a great time watching Kristian Matsson prance around on stage as he played, never missing a note. He’s so incredibly charismatic, which added some serious punch to his songs. | Mike Koehler
