sexplaylist 75It’s that time of year again – where we reflect on all of the things that I have impacted our lives. And for me, musically speaking these albums were phenomenal to me.

10. Chris Brown X This is only for those ratchet nights of free everything including the free admittance that maybe you should put away some of those disloyal ways, poor choices, and reevaluate your life and you can start this journey just a little bit listening to “Autumn Leaves,” “See You Around,” and “Drunk Texting.”

9. K. Michelle Anybody Want to Buy a Heart As Memphis native, I’m always rooting for here and this album has a little bit of everything for everyone. My favorite song is “Maybe I Should Call.”

8. Trey Songz Trigga He gives us just a little bit of sensual R&B, a few club tunes, and some heartfelt ballads, but nothing beats his overall message of love and the things you go through for the ones you love.

7. Jessie J Sweet Talker She’s Jessie J and while I haven’t the entire album just yet, I know she doesn’t let me down. Her vocals are always perfection.

6. B.o.B. New Black Mixtape… This may be because I saw him live on my birthday at Anthem in Nashville, but this mixtape really showcases the versatility that Bob has and it’s so deep and discover the depths of his mind.

5. Anthony Hamilton Home for the Holidays Seeing him perform this album at the Schermerhorn made me fall absolutely in love with this album. It’s full of the love and goodness that the holidays usually bring.

4. Jason Derulo Talk Dirty Okay, I’m sure this didn’t have a 2014 production date, but it was all overplayed on my computer this year, especially “Trumpets,” Vertigo,” and “Tattoo.”

3. J. Cole 2014 Forest Hills Drive Thank you, Jermaine Cole for being the voice of reason in a rap/hip hop field that is only parading the high life and lacks the speaking of realities today. This album brought back meaningful hip hop in the best way possible.

2. Jagged Edge J.E. Heartbreak II If you missed the good ol’ R&B of the 2000s then this album is a must-have. Jagged Edge with their soulful vocals singing ever so kindly to the rhythms of my heart reminds me of the love I hope to encounter for 2015. Queue up “Hope” and let’s dream it into existence.

1. Omarion Sex Playlist A solid R&B album from the beginning to the end, let’s indulge in party behavior with the ones we love, intimacy, and many good ass nights. Will it be too much to ask for a collaboration album with Jeremih for 2015? “Show Me” just won’t let me take it off repeat.

Honorable Mentions: Chrisette Michele The Lyricists Opus EP… Because I love her to pieces! Her vocals, style and aura just exudes sultry ease and love and most of all honesty.
