105.7 The Point's Ho Ho Show
The Pageant, St. Louis

We came to see Sparta and Deftones after other bands had backed out. Sparta provided an exciting opening act and prepared the crowd with their melodic music, but everyone was waiting for the Deftones.

After Sparta finished their show, Deftones took the stage surprisingly quickly and began. After their opening song, the crowd was ready. And thus began a whole group of crowd favorites, including "My Own Summer," "Minerva," "Passenger," "Be Quiet and Drive," and many others. Closing song "Seven Words," one of the band's first hits, left the crowd wanting more.

Readily apparent was frontman Chino Marino's ability to keep the crowd into the show throughout the whole night, interacting with audience members to make them feel involved. At one point during the night he was thrown a hat from the crowd and wore it for awhile throughout the show. Next time the Deftones hit St. Louis, look for me up front. | Dylan Kuehn
